Static Drawdown Prop Firms (2026): Which Firms Use It

Six prop firms confirm a static drawdown on their own rules or help pages: Phidias Propfirm, Elite Trader Funding, DayTraders, The Futures Desk, Earn2Trade and FXIFY (checked on 31 Oct 2026). A static drawdown sets your minimum balance once, at the start, and it never moves up as you make profit. At most of these firms it is one plan among several, so you have to pick that plan.

This guide quotes each firm's rule word for word and links the page it comes from. For the full field of futures firms, see our futures prop firm directory.

What Is a Static Drawdown?

A static drawdown is a fixed loss limit: your account fails if the balance falls to a set level, and that level never changes. The level is your starting balance minus the drawdown amount. If you start a 50K account with a $1,000 static drawdown, the floor is $49,000 on day one and stays there.

A trailing drawdown works the other way. The floor moves up as your balance makes new highs, either in real time or at the end of each day, so your room to lose stays about the same. For worked examples of that model, read how a trailing drawdown works.

Comparison of a static drawdown, where the minimum balance never moves, and a trailing drawdown, where it moves up as the account makes profit

A static floor stays put; a trailing floor follows your highest balance.

Some firms use a trailing drawdown that stops moving once it reaches a set level, often the starting balance. That is not a static drawdown from the start, so those plans are not on this list.

Static Drawdown Prop Firms Compared

The table shows where each firm uses a static drawdown and the amount its own page gives (checked on 31 Oct 2026). Where a page shows only one example size, the table says so.

Firm Plan with a static drawdown Static drawdown (50K unless noted) Applies in Asset class
Phidias Propfirm Express to Live (E2L) $650 All E2L accounts Futures
Elite Trader Funding Static plan $2,000 (the firm's own 50K example) Evaluation and Elite sim-funded Futures
DayTraders Static accounts $1,000 Evaluation and Pro Account Futures
The Futures Desk Static drawdown type Set by plan (not on the rules page) Assessment and funded account Futures
Earn2Trade Trader Career Path funded accounts Only on $200,000 and $400,000 accounts Funded stage only Futures
FXIFY Two Phase, Classic option 10% of the account Two Phase program Forex

1. Phidias Propfirm (Express to Live)

Phidias Propfirm uses a static drawdown on its Express to Live (E2L) accounts only. Its rules page says: "Every E2L account uses a fixed static drawdown (never trails), has zero minimum trading days, no consistency rule, and allows news trading at every stage (Evaluation, CASH, LIVE)." Checked on 31 Oct 2026.

The same page lists E2L in 25K, 50K, 100K and 150K sizes. The 50K E2L has a $650 static drawdown, a $2,500 profit target and a liquidation level of $49,350. Phidias says its Fundamental accounts use an EOD trailing drawdown instead, so the static rule does not cover every plan.

2. Elite Trader Funding (Static Plan)

Elite Trader Funding sells a dedicated Static plan next to its trailing and end-of-day plans. Its help article says: "Each Static Evaluation has its own Profit Target and Static (non‑trailing) Drawdown." Checked on 31 Oct 2026.

In Elite Trader Funding's own example, a 50K account with a $2,000 max loss has a $48,000 minimum balance, and that minimum stays at $48,000 after a winning trade. For the Elite sim-funded stage, the article says the minimum balance "does not trail or move with unrealized profit." You must trade at least 5 days to pass, and all trades must be closed before the market closes.

3. DayTraders (Static Accounts)

DayTraders offers Static accounts alongside its Trail, EOD and S2F plans. Its help center says: "Static accounts have a fixed drawdown level that never moves, in the evaluation and in the Pro Account." Checked on 31 Oct 2026.

The fixed level is $24,250 on 25K, $49,000 on 50K, $98,500 on 100K and $148,250 on 150K. DayTraders adds that the account fails if the balance touches that level at any time, including open losses. The Static evaluation has no daily loss limit, needs 2 qualifying days and has a 50% consistency rule.

DayTraders Static size Max drawdown Fixed drawdown level Profit target
25K $750 $24,250 $2,500
50K $1,000 $49,000 $3,750
100K $1,500 $98,500 $5,750
150K $1,750 $148,250 $6,750

4. The Futures Desk

The Futures Desk lets you choose a static or an end-of-day drawdown. Its Max Drawdown article says: "Your minimum balance is set once when you start: your starting balance minus your drawdown value. That minimum balance never changes, even if your balance climbs." Checked on 31 Oct 2026.

The same article says "your drawdown type follows you into the funded account," so a static choice carries through. It also says the firm never uses intraday unrealized drawdowns. The article does not list drawdown amounts by account size, so check them at checkout.

5. Earn2Trade (Large Funded Accounts Only)

Earn2Trade uses a fixed drawdown only on its largest funded accounts. Under the heading Fixed Drawdown, its help article says: "A static minimum balance that never changes. This applies exclusively to the $200,000 and $400,000 funded accounts on the Trader Career Path®." Checked on 31 Oct 2026.

This means the evaluation and the smaller funded accounts use other drawdown types. Earn2Trade belongs on this list only if you are aiming for those two account sizes.

6. FXIFY (Two Phase, Classic)

FXIFY is a forex and CFD firm, not a futures firm, but its Two Phase program offers a static option. Its program page lists the drawdown type as "Static" and a "Max Static Drawdown" of 10% for the Classic option shown there. Checked on 31 Oct 2026.

The same page shows a 4% daily loss limit and a 4 day minimum for that option. FXIFY's One Phase program uses a trailing drawdown instead, so pick the plan with care.

Static vs Trailing vs End-of-Day Drawdown

A static drawdown is the simplest to track because the floor never moves. A trailing drawdown is the hardest, because a winning trade can raise the floor before you bank the gain. End-of-day drawdown sits between the two: the floor moves, but only once a day at the close.

Drawdown type When the floor moves Effect of a winning day Example from this list
Static Never Adds room above the floor DayTraders Static, Phidias E2L
End of day (EOD) trailing Once a day, at the close Floor rises by the day's gain Phidias Fundamental
Intraday trailing In real time, with open profit Floor can rise before you close DayTraders Trail

A fixed floor can still be close to your starting balance. The DayTraders 50K Static plan has a $1,000 drawdown and the Phidias 50K E2L has $650, so a few losing trades at the start can still end the account.

Who a Static Drawdown Suits

A static drawdown suits traders who build profit early and want that profit to become a cushion. Each gain moves your balance further from a floor that stays put. It gives no extra help early on: until you are in profit, your room is just the drawdown amount.

  • Swing in open profit: a static floor does not chase open gains, so a trade can give back some profit without moving the limit.
  • Scaling up: once you are well above the floor, you have more room for size, within the firm's contract limits.
  • Clear risk math: you can work out your exact stop level on day one, which helps with position sizing.

How to Confirm a Static Drawdown Before You Buy

Read the plan's own rules page and look for the word static, fixed or never trails. At most firms static drawdown is one plan, so a firm can offer it and still sell you a trailing account.

Five steps to confirm a prop firm plan uses a static drawdown: find the plan, read the rules page, check the funded stage, note the amount, buy that plan

Static drawdown is a plan feature, so confirm it on the plan you buy.

  1. Open the rules or help page for the exact plan and size you want.
  2. Check whether the static rule covers both the evaluation and the funded account.
  3. Write down the drawdown amount and the fixed level for your size.
  4. Check the other limits on that plan, such as a daily loss limit, a consistency rule and contract limits.
  5. Select that plan at checkout, and check the account's rules screen once it is live.

Keeping a Static Account Safe During the Session

A static floor removes the trailing risk, but a breach is still final, and DayTraders counts open losses against the fixed level. Running your platform on a trading VPS means a home internet or power cut does not leave a position open without your platform watching it. QuantVPS's Chicago location is 0.52ms to CME.

FAQs

What is a static drawdown in a prop firm?

A static drawdown is a loss limit set once, at your starting balance minus the drawdown amount, that never moves. DayTraders describes it as "a fixed drawdown level that never moves" (checked on 31 Oct 2026).

Which futures prop firms offer a static drawdown?

On their own pages, Phidias Propfirm (Express to Live), Elite Trader Funding (Static plan), DayTraders (Static accounts) and The Futures Desk (static drawdown type) confirm a static drawdown. Earn2Trade uses one only on its $200,000 and $400,000 funded accounts (checked on 31 Oct 2026).

Is a static drawdown better than a trailing drawdown?

It is easier to track, because the floor never moves and profit adds room. But the fixed amount can be small, such as $650 on the Phidias 50K E2L, so a weak start can still end the account quickly.

Does a static drawdown carry over to the funded account?

It depends on the firm. DayTraders says its static level applies "in the evaluation and in the Pro Account," and The Futures Desk says the drawdown type follows you into the funded account. Earn2Trade uses its fixed drawdown only at the funded stage on two account sizes.

Do open losses count against a static drawdown?

At DayTraders, yes: the account fails if the balance touches the level "at any time, including open losses." Check each firm's rules page, as firms word this differently.
