The best VPS for prop firm trading sits in the city closest to your firm's servers, has an IP address no other trader shares, and has enough RAM for every account you run. Pick Chicago for CME futures (QuantVPS publishes 0.52ms to CME from there) and London or New York for forex. Read your firm's own rules page before you start a challenge.
Can you use a VPS with a prop firm?
Yes, and several firms say so on their own pages. The table quotes what each firm publishes about using a VPS, word for word, with the page it comes from. Checked on 10 Oct 2026.
| Firm | What the firm says | Source page |
|---|---|---|
| FTMO | Its FAQ says the use of a VPS is "also generally allowed." | FTMO FAQ |
| Alpha Futures | "The use of VPS is permitted in your trading" | Alpha Futures help center |
| Tradeify | "you may use VPS for trading at your own risk." | Tradeify Common FAQs |
Firms update these pages, and each firm sets its own rules by account type, so read your firm's rules page and ask its support team if anything is unclear before a challenge.
Rules pages also cover the platform. Topstep's start-here guide says: "TopstepX™ is the only available trading platform." See Topstep rules and plans before you choose a setup.
What a prop firm trader needs from a VPS
A prop firm trader needs low latency to the firm's servers, an IP address of its own, enough RAM for every account, high uptime and a connection that stays up for the whole session.
Match the server to your market and accounts, then check your firm's rules page.
- Latency. A server next to the exchange or broker cuts the round trip for every order. For CME futures that means Chicago, where QuantVPS publishes 0.52ms to CME.
- A dedicated IP. Your logins come from one address that no other trader uses. Every QuantVPS plan has a dedicated IP address.
- RAM per account. Each platform and each funded account uses memory, so size the plan for all of them running at once.
- Uptime. A VPS keeps EAs and automated strategies running when your computer is off or your home internet drops.
- Staying connected. Keep the platform logged in for the whole session, and check the uptime terms and backups before you buy.

QuantVPS suits CME futures prop accounts, such as a NinjaTrader VPS in Chicago. Tradovate prop accounts are covered too, with a VPS for Tradovate prop accounts. Three providers below start cheaper, at $25 a month.
2. Ninja Mobile Trader
Ninja Mobile Trader runs AMD Ryzen servers (model not stated). Small is $59 a month (2 cores, 3.5GB, 50GB NVMe) and Medium is $89 (3 cores, 8GB, 100GB NVMe). It names Chicago, New York City and London (the last two on request) and publishes "<1ms latency to CME, Tradovate, Rithmic, and all Prop Firms".
Its SLA covers "99.999% uninterrupted transit to the Internet". Backups are not stated, DDoS protection is automatic on fully managed VPS, and a Windows licence is included. Its terms state "a strict NO REFUND policy". Ninja Mobile Trader has more storage than Lite+ at 8GB and a cheaper dedicated server ($199 against $399.99).
3. NYC Servers
NYC Servers runs AMD EPYC processors. Basic is $25 a month ($20.83 billed yearly) with 2 cores, 2GB DDR5 and 60GB NVMe; Professional is $60 ($50 billed yearly) with 4 cores, 8GB and 100GB. It lists six forex data centers, with "1ms latency to top brokers in NY4, LD4 & TY3 datacenters", and no Chicago.
Its SLA says "100%* of the time during market trading hours." Backups are a $10 a month weekly add-on, DDoS protection is not stated as included, and the 14-day refund is one per account. NYC Servers costs less than QuantVPS for 4 cores and 8GB and suits MT4 and MT5 forex prop accounts.
4. Beeks Group
Beeks Group sells its VPS through the Beeks Financial Cloud store and does not name the processor. Bronze is £31 a month (1 vCPU, 2,560MB, 30GB SSD) and Gold is £97 (4 vCPU, 6,656MB, 75GB SSD). The store names London, New York, Chicago, Frankfurt, Tokyo and Hong Kong, with no VPS latency figure.
Uptime, backups, DDoS protection and refund terms are not stated. Windows Server 2022 adds £13 a month. Beeks Group cites SOC2 and ISO27001 certifications, offers a managed VPS service and has Hong Kong.
5. ForexVPS
ForexVPS (ForexVPS.net) does not state its processor. Core is $40 a month at list price ($28.80 billed yearly) with 2 cores, 4GB and 100GB; Prime is $80 ($57.60 billed yearly) with 6 cores, 8GB and 200GB. It states 22 locations and "1ms low latency to Forex Brokers".

How to choose: futures or forex prop firm location
Pick Chicago for a futures prop firm and London or New York for a forex prop firm. CME Globex runs in the Chicago area, where futures firms connect through Rithmic, Tradovate or CQG, and QuantVPS publishes 0.52ms to CME from its Chicago location.
Forex prop firms on MT4 or MT5 use a broker's trade servers, often in London (LD4) or New York (NY4). Pick the city nearest your firm's server, for example an FTMO challenge VPS in London. Funding Pips traders can use a VPS for Funding Pips challenges. For more forex options, see the full forex VPS comparison.
Running several funded accounts on one VPS
You can run several funded accounts on one VPS where your firm's rules allow it, but size RAM for every platform and account running at once. Each firm publishes its own copy trading terms, so read them first; see firms that allow copy trading. To mirror orders, compare trade copiers for several funded accounts.
EA rules differ by firm too: see the FundedNext VPS page. We also list the prop firms that suit EA traders.
Setup checklist before your first challenge
Set up the server so the firm sees one consistent login from one IP address.
- Read your firm's rules page for your account type and size, and ask support if anything is unclear.
- Pick the location closest to your firm: Chicago for CME futures, London or New York for forex.
- Use one VPS with its own IP address, and keep it to yourself.
- Size RAM for every platform and account you will run at once.
- Install the platform and test it on a practice account, for example install NinjaTrader on a VPS. Then connect prop firm accounts to a VPS.
- Check account limits in the Apex Trader Funding profile. For Tradeify, see its Tradeify account details. To compare more firms, use the futures prop firm directory.
FAQs
What VPS should I use for a funded futures account?
Use one in Chicago, close to CME, with an IP address only you use and enough RAM for every account. QuantVPS publishes 0.52ms to CME from Chicago, and every plan has a dedicated IP address. Read your firm's rules page before you start.
Do prop firms allow a VPS?
Several say so on their own pages. On 10 Oct 2026, FTMO's FAQ said VPS use is "also generally allowed", Alpha Futures said "The use of VPS is permitted in your trading" and Tradeify said "you may use VPS for trading at your own risk." Rules differ by firm and account type, so check your firm's rules page before a challenge.
Why do prop firm traders use a VPS for challenges?
A VPS keeps EAs and automated strategies running when your computer is off or your home internet drops, and a server near the exchange cuts latency. From Chicago, QuantVPS publishes 0.52ms to CME.
Does a prop firm VPS need its own IP address?
It should. A dedicated IP means your logins come from one address that no other trader uses. Every QuantVPS plan has a dedicated IP address.
