A stock prop firm lets you trade US stocks and ETFs with the firm’s buying power instead of your own money. You pay for an evaluation, reach its profit target within its loss limits, and then keep a share of the profits you make. Trade The Pool, for example, runs its evaluations on a simulated account and pays traders 70% of profits on its FLEX and MAX programs. Rules and prices can change, so read the firm’s current terms.

Stock prop firms fund trading in US stocks and ETFs; futures prop firms fund trading in futures contracts, such as ES and NQ. The rules differ too: Trade The Pool, for example, sizes accounts by buying power, caps each opening trade at 5% of the stock’s volume in the previous minute and closes positions before a scheduled earnings report. It does not offer index futures, but it allows their ETFs, such as SPY and QQQ.

Of the firms we list, Trade The Pool allows overnight and weekend holds on its Swing programs (FLEX and MAX). Its Day Trade programs close every position at 3:50 PM ET; a position opened after the 4:00 PM ET close can be held until 3:50 PM ET the next trading day. On every program, a position in a stock with an earnings report that night closes at 3:50 PM ET.
