This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of all QuantVPS services, network infrastructure, and computing resources. By using our services, you agree to comply with this AUP, our Terms of Service, and all applicable laws and regulations.
You will be held responsible for all actions performed by your account whether done by you or by others. If server security is compromised, the account holder is responsible for all violations of QuantVPS's Terms of Service and this Acceptable Use Policy.
1. Scope and Applicability
1.1. Policy Coverage
This AUP applies to:
All QuantVPS customers, users, and account holders
Third-party users accessing services through customer accounts
All content, applications, and services hosted on QuantVPS infrastructure
Network traffic originating from or directed to QuantVPS systems
Use of QuantVPS IP addresses, domain names, and network resources
1.2. Account Responsibility
You are fully responsible for:
All activities performed through your account, whether by you or others
Security breaches and compromised server incidents
Actions of your users including customers, employees, and contractors
Third-party access to your services and resources
Compliance monitoring and violation prevention
The client is ultimately responsible for individual server security. QuantVPS disclaims all liability for server content.
2. Prohibited Activities
2.1. Illegal and Criminal Activities
QuantVPS services may not be used for:
2.1.1. Criminal Activities
Fraud, identity theft, or financial crimes of any kind
Money laundering or other illegal financial activities
Drug trafficking or illegal substance distribution
Weapons trafficking or illegal weapons sales
Human trafficking or exploitation activities
Terrorism or support for terrorist organizations
Child exploitation or abuse in any form
2.1.2. Intellectual Property Violations
Copyright infringement including pirated software, media, or content
Trademark violations or unauthorized use of protected marks
Patent infringement or unauthorized use of patented technologies
Trade secret theft or unauthorized disclosure
Counterfeit goods distribution or sales
2.2. Network Abuse and Security Violations
2.2.1. Malicious Network Activities
Hacking, cracking, or unauthorized system access of any kind
Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks or participation
Port scanning or network reconnaissance without authorization
Vulnerability exploitation against third-party systems
Botnet operation or command and control infrastructure
Malware distribution including viruses, trojans, and ransomware
2.2.2. Spam and Unsolicited Communications
Bulk email or unsolicited commercial communications (UCE)
Email harvesting or automated address collection
Dictionary attacks against email systems
Comment spam or automated content posting
TCP/IP packet header forgery or email header manipulation
2.3. Content Violations
2.3.1. Prohibited Content Types
Illegal pornography including child exploitation material
Content displaying or transferring acts of copulation or exposed genitalia regardless of context
Hate speech targeting individuals or groups based on protected characteristics
Harassment, stalking, or threats against individuals
Defamatory content or intentionally false information
Violent content promoting or glorifying violence
All violations of this AUP shall be subject to review by QuantVPS, and an appropriate course of action shall be taken as determined by QuantVPS in its sole discretion. Proper use of the network must comply with all local, state, and federal laws.
3. Resource Usage and Security Requirements
3.1. System Sabotage and Abuse
Any type of sabotage, regardless of intention, shall be grounds for immediate termination:
Remote reboot abuse including multiple improper uses in short timeframes
Service disruption that affects other customers or QuantVPS infrastructure
Resource exhaustion attacks designed to consume system resources
Intentional system crashes or stability interference
Infrastructure tampering or unauthorized configuration changes
3.2. Security Obligations
Clients are required and obligated to:
Maintain all security on their servers and applications
Install security updates promptly when available
Monitor access logs for suspicious activity
Implement access controls appropriate for their services
Report security incidents to QuantVPS immediately
Accept financial responsibility for any additional charges incurred due to security failures
3.3. Resource Fair Use
3.3.1. CPU and Processing Limits
Sustained high CPU usage that impacts other customers is prohibited
Cryptocurrency mining is strictly forbidden without explicit authorization
Background processes must be optimized for efficiency
Resource monitoring compliance is required
3.3.2. Network and Bandwidth Usage
Bandwidth abuse that affects network performance is prohibited
Traffic patterns must comply with fair use guidelines
Content delivery should be optimized to minimize resource impact
4. Monitoring and Content Policies
4.1. Content Monitoring
QuantVPS does not actively monitor content but reserves the right to:
Review content upon complaint from third parties or law enforcement
Investigate suspected violations of this AUP or Terms of Service
Scan for malware and security threats automatically
Monitor resource usage and network traffic patterns
4.2. Content Compliance
Content that complies with local, state, and federal law and this AUP will remain intact. Content deemed in violation will be subject to:
Immediate review by QuantVPS technical and legal teams
Remediation requirements with specific timelines
Service restrictions or content removal if necessary
Account termination for severe or repeated violations
5. Blacklist and Network Protection
5.1. Blacklist Prevention
If QuantVPS or any IP addresses are blacklisted due to customer activities:
Immediate suspension of the offending services
Investigation of the cause and scope of the blacklisting
Mandatory remediation before service restoration
Potential termination for repeated blacklist incidents
Additional fees may apply for blacklist removal efforts
5.2. Prohibited Operations
The following are specifically prohibited:
Operating services on behalf of entities listed in the Spamhaus Register of Known Spam Operations
Reselling services to known spam operations or malicious actors
Providing infrastructure for activities that result in blacklisting
Knowingly hosting content or services that violate anti-spam policies
6. IP Address Policies
6.1. IP Address Ownership
All IP addresses issued by QuantVPS remain the sole property of QuantVPS
No ownership rights are transferred to clients
Usage rights are limited to active service periods
Transfer restrictions - clients may not transfer IPs from QuantVPS
6.2. Large IP Allocations
For clients requesting more than 16 IP addresses:
ARIN justification forms are required
Usage documentation must demonstrate legitimate need
Additional terms may apply based on allocation size
