QuantVPS has 8 locations: Chicago, New York, London, Dublin, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Tokyo and Singapore. Our locations are chosen to be close to major trading networks and prediction market APIs.

Hostnames last verified: September 2026.

Here are some example routes and the location to use for each:

  • Chicago: Rithmic, Tradovate, IBKR, Kalshi
  • Dublin: Polymarket (CLOB)
  • London: Forex & CFDs
  • New York: NYSE, NASDAQ

Pick the location closest to your broker or exchange. A shorter distance gives lower latency.

How to Test Your Latency

Step 1: Open Command Prompt

  1. Click Start
  2. Type cmd
  3. Click Command Prompt

On a Linux server (for example Dublin, which runs Ubuntu): open a terminal or SSH session and run the same ping commands.

Step 2: Run Ping Tests

Copy and paste each command below into the Command Prompt and press Enter:

ProviderLocationCommand
RithmicChicagoping ritmz01001.01.rithmic.com
RithmicChicagoping ping.rithmic.com
TradovateChicagoping live.tradovateapi.com
IBKRChicagoping api.ibkr.com
IBKRChicagoping cdc1.ibllc.com
KalshiChicagoping api.elections.kalshi.com
Polymarket (CLOB)Dublinping clob.polymarket.com

Tip: Run each test for ~10 to 15 seconds for a stable average.

Step 3: Read the Results

After running each ping, you'll see output like this:

Reply from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=xxx

Focus on this value:

MetricWhat It Means
time=1msYour latency to that provider
0 to 1 msTypical from Chicago to CME-based providers, and from Dublin to Polymarket
1 to 5 msVery good
Above 5 msCheck you're pinging from the right location for that provider (see the table below). If you are, open a support ticket with your results.

Step 4: Stop the Test

Press Ctrl + C to stop the ping and view a summary:

  • Average = your true latency
  • Packet loss = should be 0%

Why Latency Matters

Lower latency means your orders and market data spend less time travelling between your VPS and your broker. It does not guarantee fills or prices.
