You can change the Windows display language on your VPS by installing a language pack through Settings. Follow the steps below to switch the interface to your preferred language.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Log in to Your VPS
- Use Remote Desktop (RDP) to access your VPS.
- Enter your VPS IP, username, and password.
Step 2: Open Language Settings
- Press Start, type Settings, and open it.
Navigate to:
Time & Language → Language
Step 3: Add a New Language
- Under Preferred languages, click Add a language.
- Search for your desired language (e.g., Spanish, German, French).
- Click Next, then make sure Set as my display language is checked.
- Click Install.
If a language option appears grayed out or unavailable to select, this is usually due to language-pack availability restrictions on Windows Server SKUs: not all display languages can be installed without additional language pack files from Microsoft.
Step 4: Sign Out or Restart
- Once the language pack is installed, you'll be prompted to sign out or restart for the changes to take effect.
- After reboot, the Windows interface will appear in your selected language.
Optional: Change Input Method or Keyboard Layout
- Still under Time & Language → Language, select your language and click Options.
- You can add or remove keyboard layouts as needed.
