Two plan lines, the same tiers

Every QuantVPS VPS tier, from Starter to Ultra, comes in two lines. Standard plans (Starter, Lite, Pro, Ultra) run on AMD EPYC 7003 server processors. Performance plans carry a plus (Starter+, Lite+, Pro+, Ultra+) and run on the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X, a high-clock desktop-class processor.

The tier sets how much you get: CPU, memory and NVMe storage, and the number of charts and accounts it is sized for. The line sets how fast each of those cores is, and a few extras that come with it.

Why single-thread speed matters

Trading platforms spend most of their time on one or two threads: drawing charts, calculating indicators and handling the DOM and your orders. Adding cores helps when you run many platforms or backtests at once; a faster core helps every chart and every click.

That is the main difference between the lines. The PassMark single-thread reference is 2,250 for AMD EPYC 7003 and 4,580 for the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X, about 2.0× faster per thread.

Tier by tier

Both lines share the same tiers. Prices are monthly; save with annual billing on the pricing page.

Memory, storage, network and backups

  • Memory: Standard plans use DDR4, Performance plans DDR5, in the same amounts per tier.
  • Storage: NVMe on both lines, the same size per tier.
  • Network: Standard plans connect at 1Gbps+ and Performance plans at 3Gbps+; both burst to 10 Gbps. That is bandwidth for downloads and data, not order latency.
  • Backups: Performance plans include automatic backups every 72 hours, an extra recovery point for your VPS. Standard plans do not, so keep your own copies of important files (good practice on any plan).

Both lines also include a dedicated IP address, DDoS protection, 24/7 monitoring and support, and unmetered bandwidth.

Which one to choose

Choose Standard when you want the lowest monthly cost: a strategy that runs mostly on its own, light charting, or a second server for testing.

Choose Performance when you trade live from the charts and the DOM, scalp, run order-flow tools, or want automatic backups. It suits live charting platforms such as NinjaTrader, Tradovate and Quantower.

Then pick the tier by workload. Our guidance runs from 0–1 charts on Starter to 5–10 on Ultra, and from 1 prop account to 5–10. Our sizing guidance is based on audited analysis of more than 25,000 VPS performance support tickets and user-tested setups. These VPS performance tickets were analyzed to inform our chart, strategy, and prop-account recommendations. Platform settings, indicators, automation, and copier configuration affect the resources your setup needs. When to go dedicated

Beyond Ultra, a dedicated server gives you a whole machine with no other tenants. Dedicated runs the AMD Ryzen 9 5950X with 128GB DDR4 and 1TB NVMe; Dedicated+ runs the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X with 128GB DDR5 and 2TB+ NVMe. Both are sized for 10+ charts and 20+ prop accounts, and use RAID1 storage.

Dedicated+ scores are for the Ryzen 9 9950X (65,707 CPU Mark, 4,727 single-thread). Some Dedicated+ servers run the Ryzen 9 9900X: 54,817 CPU Mark, 4,683 single-thread.

Compare them on dedicated trading servers, then read the next lesson: latency and order execution.

Questions about this lesson.

Standard plans run on AMD EPYC 7003 processors with DDR4 memory. Performance plans, the ones with a plus (Lite+, Pro+ and so on), run on AMD Ryzen 9 9950X processors with DDR5 memory, and include a faster network port (3Gbps+ against 1Gbps+) and automatic backups. Tier for tier, the memory and NVMe storage match.

Usually, if you trade live. Charting and order-entry platforms spend most of their time on one or two threads, so the faster single thread of the Ryzen processor keeps charts and the DOM responsive at busy times like the market open.

No. Automatic backups are not included with this plan. Manage your own backups or choose a Performance VPS plan to include automatic backups.

Yes. Plans can be upgraded from your dashboard. The migration keeps your files, software and settings; the new server gets a new IP address and password. To move between plan lines or regions, ask support.

Our guidance for Lite and Lite+ is 1–3 charts or strategies and 1–2 prop accounts; Ultra and Ultra+ take 5–10 charts and 5–10 accounts. Our sizing guidance is based on audited analysis of more than 25,000 VPS performance support tickets and user-tested setups.
